March Photo Challenge
The winner of last November's contest was Starbase1 so he chose the next topic.
Topic For March
Any picture taken with a camera built into a phone.
Rules as they exist thus far:
Submissions are open from March 1st to March 25th and are limited to 2 per person.
Sky's the limit for resolution (though it's understandable if people don't want to share highest res originals if they don't want to)
Probably good to keep file size under 2MB
Photo-manipulation is okay [retouching, red eye, color balance tweaks etc] (in this case a before and after would be required)
Obvious photo-shopping is discouraged [no adding stuff that isn't there at all, or using canned 'make pretty picture' presets]
Content-aware deletions/fill-ins are cheating...:p
There is a limit of two entries per person
*Post your final challenge entry in this thread along with the original image should you utilize any post processing

As the person who picked the topic, I thought I'd throw in a few words of explanation...
My hope is that by choosing camera phones as the theme, it would encourage people who don't normally enter to have a go, as they can't be so easily outgunned by superior technology.
Also I am very aware that i hardly use the camera in my own phone, and maybe this will gee me up a bit!
Even more than normal I hope people will throw in some comments on how they got the shot, what they used to take it, and how they found using it. It was partly inspired by some shots I saw of the recent shuttle lauch, taken from the window of a passing plane on an iPhone.

Strange, I didn't read it as 'taking a picture using a phone'. Is that what it is you wnat?
Edit: perhaps I should have read the line under the title

I'm with you Rhys; my phone sends and receives phone calls, nothing else. It might do text messages, but that isn't something I do either, so I don't know.
Yes, the goal of this challenge is to encourage casual photographers to take part.

I guess I'll start things off, this is a pic of the moon I took with my cell phone. I like the way the street lights show up in the pic.

Great idea, Starbase! I really like your way of thinking because I am one of those casual photographers.
I try to carry a camera with me at all times because I often need one for work, and occasionally I see something that I just want to take pictures of. In years past, I have used a cell phone to take pictures, just because it was the only thing I had with me that was capable of taking pictures but they usually have crappy quality.
Cell phone cameras have come a long way in the last few years though, and I'm looking forward to seeing what some of the newer high quality units are capable of.
Meanwhile, I'm going to have a look through some of my cell pictures and I will post up an entry myself.

hmmm... figures. I can't get the pictures off of my old motorola razor because the USB cable is charge only, and it has no memory card. So the only way to get the pictures off would be to e-mail them to myself, but the phone is no longer active. Ah well.
I have some cool pictures on my chocolate that I can get off if I can find the adapter for the micro SD card.
This challenge is more challenging than I thought.

That's why we call it a Challenge. ;)

Or as it's known in the real world, Leadenhall Market in the Coty of London.

I was having lunch in the Lamb Tavern at the time you took this photo :)
Love Leadenhall, beautiful place, shame more people don't look up when they walk through it.

Hi Stargate and congrats on winning. Here are two taken from my wife's HTC camera/mobile phone.
1st is at a superbowl party at a local TGI Friday in Melbourne, some other packers fans she met here.
2nd is at the local bi-annual Avalon airshow, also outside Melbourne, my son and a visiting pair of USAF F22's, for the RAAF's 90th anniversary.

Well it's not the best phone camera and I didn't want to disturbe them with more lighting, but here are my cats. :)
