Awesome! The Stuka was always one of my favourite planes. Looks good so far and I look forward to seeing more.

And welcome to Foundation 3D.

nice start. Always wanted to do this one myself

Looks like a nice start! The poly flow looks good. The wings need more shaping to finish them up to the right shape, but you may not be that far on them yet. You may want to think about modeling the canopy separate. Not that you can't do it this way I just would find it easier to add it on and keep the fuse the right shape without the canopy effecting it.

Here's some more refs for you.

A great start to your model! I wish I had been able to do that after using Lightwave for only a few months!

And welcome to Foundation3D!!

Mikala

I hope it gets out of the storm soon.
I look forward to seeing the mesh.

I see a thumbnail, but when I click on it I get "FATAL ERROR: Connection to database server failed.Host 'ns1.imagehosting.com' is blocked because of many connection errors; unblock with 'mysqladmin flush-hosts'"

@viking
it's best to u/l your screenshots directly on the server here .. with the 'manage attachments'-button you can u/l pictures from your HD to this server ...
that might be the problem ..
hope this helps ..

Yep. Imagehosting.com has decided that there were to many people going for a look at it and blocked it. This is one of the reasons that we ask people to use the upload feature available on this site. Then it will never happen to you again :)

http://www.rendersworld.com/Tutorial/greybeard/Props.htm is the way I used to do them Still works fine.

That one doesn't seem that bad at all. Just the tip needs some twisting a bit.

Probably just the perspective playing havoc but they also look huge for the plane itself ...

Great progress anyways ;)

yes! i think it too....
but the dimension in meters are proportionally exats (i've mesured a scale draw ...2 meters for any prop)i'll check better this mesaures.

Very Very nice start.. and more there :) I love the Stuka one of the terrors of World War 2 lord knows you didn't want one coming down on you.. because where one was generally there where a load more.

Great modeling so far, and don't forget bill's great tutorial has a load of helpful hints etc (presuming it's still around bill?)

Matt

Good deal for the dimensions... if it's correct on there then it should be fine - a good model should always go by reference :)

hi :)
after a little pause
(studies for university exhams)

i've maked a little update :)

Mikala
8th March 2008, 01:12 PM
Wow those guns look like they would tear the wings off when they fired!

BillS
8th March 2008, 02:12 PM
They almost did :) They would loose airspeed while firing.

Glad your back at it. The control surfaces on the wings seem a little to soft. They need some tightening up to make them more angular. Also the leading edge of the fin looks almost square. That will need rounding off.

If you just haven't gotten to them yet... then ignore me :D

Nice, a quick search of google turned up some pages related to the JU87-D machine guns: http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&q=MG81&meta=&fp=458d05167c37f829

This is looking good. To echo what Bells said earlier, I wish I'd have been able to do something this nice after only a few months with LightWave!

Agreed with Bill about the control surfaces. I suspect, though, that those are still patched and haven't been tightened down yet.

Planning on UV mapping her, or trying the procedural route?

Tony

first of all, thanks to all for replyes...:D

i think that i will use the procedural route..but in this moment
(after 1 year of stop...finally i've finished studies and i can take all time that i want -after work :p - ) i've re-started to use Lightwave...and i don't remember too many tools and tips...
then, now i'm searching and trying to re-model something like mig3 (Bills tutorial subject :jawdrop:) and Serenity ship (another SPECTACULAR tut :tu:).
into those tutorials..there are the explanation of hundred of tools, and the way to use them..so i think this is a good gym for me :D

Anyway..the Stuka is only in stand-by..for a little time.

PS: I would to tell you sorry for my noob english :p
bye
