A misty mountain. I'm planning on adding some architecture to it eventually, but for now it's just a scenic vista.

I'm really plussed about this one. Though I can tell it's 3D it's very well done. I like the mist and fog and subtle lighting.

How did you do the mist??? metaclouds or just a fog/haze combo?

Pretty darn good. With the sun at that angle though you might have more yellow in the sunlight. Also, there doesn't seem to be any global lighting... there should be a little at least. :D

fog/haze combo. It actually renders pretty dang fast too. Just a standard atmo. Tried some GI but it did not look at all good. I might try to set up an occlusion pass to comp into it. Might help a bit.

Nice work on a challenging subject matter. The thing that strikes me as the most CG-ish about it is the purplish bits of, I'm assuming, rock showing through on the bottom right side.

Cool work, and ambitious :D

You seem to have nailed what always kills me. And that is the scale of the vegetation in the ecosystem. I always make it either to small or to big and it throws the sense of scale off on the whole thing.

That is a beautiful picture. It needs a sinister looking castle sitting on the top of the rear most peak.

I could just see that with a nice castle or eastern monestary :D I really like environment work.

Cool stuff, front page for you sir!

Wow! This is really nice. First thing that came to mind when I saw this was the valley leading to Shangri-La. :)

Beautiful work Andy! Great atmosphere and composition. It begs for a vertical monastery or castle dramatically winding down the face of the mountain.

First off let me say that is is incredible. Don't think I could pull anything like this off at this point. My only crit is that furthest mountain there. Something about it just looks off. Not sure, but the contrast between shadow and light seems off to me.
