Yes! He looks fantastic Ed. Brilliant work on it - is he fully rigged for animation to boot?
That looks like a LOT of parenting/hierarchy work man....

Thor
26th Nov 2007, 07:57 PM
Yep he's about as rigged as I could make him. :)
However I'm not a expert in that area so the rig's probably not the best in the world!

Awesome over here too dude, great work. :)

Looking at him, I can't help but wonder where those braided hoses near the sides of the head and shoulders would go under the skin...?

Congrats on the header too. :)

Welcome to our humble abode neoart.

By all means, post your work. You will find the people here are not elitest, nor condescending. Yes, there are professionals here (and they are a great bunch of people who help when they can) but there are many here who do this for a hobby. We will give honest critiques on your images and make some suggestions on how to improve it (if it needs it).

And remember, you are your own worst critic. An artist is never happy with the end product. Let us tell you how good it is. :)

I look forward to seeing something from you.

So whats next the TX? looking forwards to more renders of this bad boy.

Does anybody know of a T-800 model that I could try to convert over for Poser (.obj)? found one a while back but the head just did not look right, I would model one myself if I knew how? lol

I can't remember the name of the guy, but he built all kinds of movie stuff for use in poser and they where all pretty good and free. If memory serves me right he built a pretty impressive model of the Predator and Alien for use in poser they where fully rigged and didn't use morphes for the facial stuff, I'd start with a search for that.
Wow, it's been along time since I've even pulled his stuff out but he had tons to download from his site, some was even marvel comic stuff. I'll look through my poser models disk tomorrow and see if I can't find the link to his site.

I finally got around to seeing the new Terminator TV series today.

Does anyone else find it highly ironic that Ed's model is not only more detailed, but a good deal more accurate than the one used on the frikkin' show itself?!? The model they're using on the show reminds me of some of the older fan-made sci-fi models from a few years back. Back in the day when something was "good enough" so long as it was more or less recognizable. Why they didn't just use the already-made digital model from T3, I have no idea.

But it's never a good thing to look at a CGI shot and say "Hell, I can do better than that..."

Sorry to go off-topic, it just seemed a somewhat reasonable place to rant. Especially seeing as how all my ranting only serves to praise Ed and his work! :)

Meurig
24th Jan 2008, 09:53 PM
The terminator in Sarah Connor is not the same one as in the films. They didn't have the rights to the original design so it was changed slightly and rebranded as a different model. I think it's named the T-888.

So it's not innacurate, just different.

I was also quite impressed with it for a TV budget.

Mikala
25th Jan 2008, 12:35 AM
Oh man caught the episode tonight....god awful design on the "different" Terminator. Bit boxy.

Andy M
25th Jan 2008, 05:56 AM
The T-800 in the TV series was created by a guy called Jose Perez, and I don't think the shots you see of it in the series do the model justice.

You can see the sort of work he produces here .... http://www.fxstation.com/

You need to read the details more carefully. We are not charging for the models, You are purchasing a subscription, mush as you would a magazine, and all Premiere Content are additional downloads only available to Premiere Members. The content, all of it is not for sale separately regardless of what it is.
