As an outgrowth of this thread (http://www.foundation3d.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2504), here's a short animation (26 seconds)...
(8.95 MB Quicktime) (http://www.foundation3d.com/uploads/art/2008/05/-30-153210.mov)
...lens flare is probably over the top, and towards the end I get in a bit closer to the models than I probably should have:p

Maybe you need another antialiasing filter, one designed for animations, it could look better toward the end.

Looks great but it looks a little synthetic, and thats purely because we seldom see any shots of the ships with any clarity. If you watch the episodes the camera is never that still, there is camera shake and tracking zoom shots.
So with a little blurring of the image and some camera wobble and I think you might have an episode quality render.

Isn't it something when someone suggests an improvent by using blurring and wobbling . . . .. LOL
I think that one of BSG's lasting contributions to this field is the application of a documentary style camera verite. That basically an element of unpolishedness heightens the realism . . .
. . . .whenever i render anything anymore, i shake my computer a bit. . . .

One of the better BSG animations I have seen in this forum :)
Yeah, bit too much on the flare, otherwise look good :)
