I don't see an I-16 up there ;) I know you modeled one of those.
That swordfish pic is kick ass!

Thank you guys, I appreciate your kind words:) You know Bill i never did anything else other than the tutorial with the I16. I spent a long time putting the tutorials together, i sort of couldn't face it again he he.

I can relate.. I don't think I rendered more than 3 or 4 images of my mig-3 when I finished up that tut. And now I look at it and think how much better I could make it. :)

The modelling on all of these looks absolutely top notch, no criticism at all. Same for the textures.
But..... I would have the same comment about pretty much every single posted image, strangely, which is that everything is far too matte.
I've been working with a copter identical to the one in your first image at work over the past week, which is a recycled version of the one used in Dark Knight earlier in the year and looking at the huge amount of collected reference and rendered copters from previous shows it's surprising just how reflective they actually are.
For the first copter image you have very nice lighting and a great scene, but with a HDR globe environment based on the backdrop added and the reflectivity of the copter boosted quite substantially your render would go from looking like a well made CG helicopter to a photo of a real one.
Duplicate that comment for all of the aircraft renders, and also the interiors. In one you have a marble floor and another wood or linoleum, all of which would be very reflective and aren't at all at the moment.

Thanks for your comment and your right in some respects. The 109 can have a very gloss paint job. MR can be a tricky beast to get to grips with and i am learning all the time. I have changed my lighting rig and environment set up for a lot of the stuff ive done for work and it has made a difference.
I tend to use a lot more render passes now and it makes all the difference, especially wacking in a occlusion and shadow pass. Also ive made a lot more use of the architectural materials which seem to be a lot lore flexible and faster rendering even for aircraft!. But everydays a schoolday i'd admit that anytime!
My next challenge is making environments for animation things like sky's and oceans. If you've had any experience if this Meurig i'd love to pick your brains for a minute or two:p
Cheers guys

Great models and textures! Some of the compositing needs specularity and flare, but otherwise it's all top notch.
