chrisken, I like the subject for sure and I want to see more.
Just a reminder, btw, to post what apps you used and a little about the techniques you're using.

Just a little info on the techniques I am using for my models . Where possible I use drawings with cross sections. I construct polygons of 28 points to start and bridge the frames . I try where possible to keep the mesh sub D . I spent several years using Lightwave but now do most of my models in modo 301

Nice work But the title you have for it is Bugging me BIG STYLE.
Here's a bit of trivia..
The company is called Short's by it's workers, "Short's" as in "Short Brothers" and day one at source it is, was and always has been the "Short's Sunderland" .
Ie Short's as in Short Brothers, also as In Short Brothers & Harlands As per Harland Wolffe, Both companies being located at Dragan/Queens Island Belfast.
Anyways the Point being, there is NO "LONG" Sunderland either :p
It's The "Short's Sunderland" WIth Short's being the name of the company, and a major employer for many years in my area. Hence the strangeness associated with seeing it called a "Short" X, as apposed to the X by "Short's"
As an additional bit of trivia, the jettys that where used for their fit outs are now reduced to scrap and form large chunk of my winter moorings.

jorjo, there is no Long Sterling or Long Skyvan either, all are made by Short Brothers and all my books call it a Short Sunderland but I do not care. I will call it The Sunderland Flying Boat manafactured by Short Brothers if you like:D thanks for all comments.regards Chris

LOL When you grow up with the company on your doorstep and half og everyone you ever knew, had a relation who worked there and all Call it "Shorts" that missing "s" at the end is real weird. I had a quick look around on line and sure enough just about everywhere has it listed as "Short" :) No biggie really I just figured you may be interested to know that from the factory it's "Shorts" derived from the plural denoted by "Short Brothers" or "Short's" when denoting their ownership. There are no cases where the company would be refered to as "Short" Though the workers have frequently been called Short fat hairy ,,,, :p
I'll grab a few pics of the factory for you next time I am passing :tu:
Meanwhile I hope your ready to start texturing it

Great job on one of my favorite aircraft. I have always had a hankering to do a Sunderland but never quite managed to get started. Keep up the great work.

It's looking much better than the previous update.
When I look at the chipping I would expepct more weathering, not sure if you are too that point yet but it's just what struck me.

Yeah the paint chips look a bit to big for the scale of the plane and some seem to be hanging out there where there isn't really a reason for it to chip there.

I have done the paint chips again and these are straight from a photo of a Sunderland during WW2
