I have begun to work on a project of modeling Myst Island, however, I find it very difficult to determine the dimessions and distant of the objects. I also can't get realMYST to work on my computer.
Can anyone help to find decent references?

Oh, I miss Myst. Let's see what I've got from my own flirtations with that accursed island...
Here's a fairly large archive, mostly screenshots from realMyst and Myst V, but a few images I download on-line.

Also, I may or may not have extracted the model of the island from Myst V. I was attempting to use software for hacking and building Ages in Uru (Myst V being, more or less, the same engine as Uru) to open the level in Blender, and then export it into a format Lightwave could read to use it as reference for a detailed version. I never could get it to work, though. If you're interested in giving it a shot, here's a little information to get you started. (http://wiki.cobbs.ca/index.php?title=PRPExplorer&printable=yes)
You know, Myst and Riven really are classics. Someone needs to work out a proper way of preserving old games like those so they can still be played.

Don't play many games, but I did enjoy the Myst series.
So much so that I recently purchased an updated pack of 5 Myst games on DVD, for about 15£ (sterling) which all ran OK on my PC.
I recall that there were quite a few maps in some of the cheat books at the time.
Good luck with the project!

I could call the guy that wrote the game..
He lives in Dear Park, Washington..
Cant remember the name of his company, he changed it a few years ago, he just did an interview a few months ago..about an update to the game...
