watering hole

My attempt at making a watering hole in terragen
still trying to get it to look right, i feel like something is off, or missing.

I think the water itself is pretty darn good, what looks odd to me is the terrain texture. It needs a lot more variation in color, imo.

I don't know Terragen enough to know if you can add some basic striation effects due to height or not, but it might help.

For me I find these programs add too much haze.
I do like the water a lot though in both pics.
