Hi, I've been working on and off on this for a while and think it's about ready to show what it looks like. It's taken a while to actually set up the undercarriage so it pivots correctly and animated them so the various parts move correctly.
Anyway, without further ado, please have a look in the zip file for two divx files.
Camera 1 is a spectator view on the side of the runway and camera 5 is right underneath the intake looking at the gear (of course).
EDIT: Forgot to add, that the take off run is extremely short. That's my mistake....it didn't seem that short when I scrubbed the timeline myself :D:rolleyes:

My goodness. That is some damn fine rigging! There is a lot of fiddly bits in there to get moving correctly.

Thanks Bill :)
I admit, there are some of those parts that are left to their own devices when you can't see them, for the gear strut and door, anymore. At one point though, I saw that one of the scissor rods on the nose wheel strut, was poking through the intake, so emergency surgery was performed and it was corrected :D

That's nice!
The one thing I don't like is how the camera snaps into the rearward position; it's too abrupt.

Rigel: Do you mean when the jet starts or what? I agree it's a bit like a jumpstart and I'll work more on that.

Yes, just as the jet starts to move is what I meant. The rest of the camera move looks good though.

I've worked a bit more on it this morning. I had to get out the door in less than 30mins, so this is just a light version of the animation. There's no GI, just shadows.
Also, different camera angle, so the gear retracting isn't visible.

It's in DivX 7 format

Not bad. I love the wobble in the F16 as it's banking away from the runway.
