your tile mapping the UVW? reason I ask is you've done a well jaw dropping job on the modeling it seems a shame to rush the texturing job on it by tiling.. your using max.. so i can't remember 100% but back when I was using 3/4 there was a plugin called Unwrap or something like that which created flat UV maps for you by unwrapping the poly structure (saved a hell of a lot of time and honestly I wish LW's UV System did a better job of simular unwrapping) but with something like that and some time in photoshop you could make some really kick ass textures for this and i think that's what it needs the most now.. cause the textures are as mentioned the only thing that 'jumps' out at me as letting it down atm there 'blury' and at least to me.
