this is supposed to be based on the board game? dont remember aliens in the board game. looks like battle LA at sea, must have a fair budget thought as the release date is a way off, and has liam neeson.

I didn't make the Battleship game connection until the shot in the trailer of the alien ship firing 4 yellow peg like things into the side of the battleship.
Now I'll be expecting Liam Neeson to yell "You sank my Battleship" LOL

Must admit this trailer sold the film to me immediately. I expect it'll be terrible, so if it isn't it'll be a pleasant surprise

I like the alien ship design... but I'm not likely to watch it....movies based on games have been notoriously bad. Even some of the video game movies have been lame. I don't need a nostalgic childhood memory overrun by a motion picture just becasue a screen writer could come up with a better idea....

And I'm going to go see it. Probably more than once. And I'm going to own it. Looks like about the best SWO pr0n in decades.

Went to see this last night. I personally thought it was good. The effects where very good. The ships and battles great. It was a little light on story etc. It seemed to me to be a cross between independance day and Pearl Harbour. Good though

Its being released on the 18th here in the Chicago area, and since Iron Sky's US release has been delayed I need a VFX fix to tide me over!
