Default Misc - Smokin burnout CGI animation

Hello.
this is a re rendered portion of a video I created ( no thanks to tube- am not sharing vid due to auto contrast destroys it) hence re done.

I created this in C4d using the Thinking particle system. Creating it from scratch in expresso
( thanks to natemac of Chicago c4d and his TP tuts 1-6)
I normally do not post clips but was kind of happy with my results and thought I would get some feedback/share of it. Is not re do of a tut.

I have gotten so much positive feedback here from just 2 posts I reckon I am actually looking for a critique or positive feedback that will help me improve. Again am very new to 3d and CG
( began Oct 2010)

I did try and do a swirl of smoke but is beyond my ability atm. And since I could not do the interpretative video & the Tube auto contrast, video is deemed unworthy of sharing. But the centerpiece is the burnout which is my focus.

So, I spose it is either thumbs up, or thumbs down on a newb's try at a burnout. Is my very first one.

Challenger RT model by Thasuma. Freely avail. City by D. Walcott

If you would like more info just ask, I will share.

thanks for viewing my post.

Regards,

Randal R.

That was really good, actually. The smoke looks very natural, and it moves the right way. Only thing I'd say is maybe make the smoke more persistent, and make more of it. It's really well done, though!

Yep the persistence of the smoke is a little to quick.. and maybe a little more swirl around the tire. All in all though it looks good.

Looks good, I agree with what the others have said. To get the swirl effect just drop the particle emitter in to the tire object so they spin together or place a particle rotation object over the wheel with a counter-clockwise rotation which would also do the trick.

Thanks for replies, and appreciate the advice very much.

It was actually my first real go at using thinking particles in C4d.
