Holy crap! Dark Shadows?
I have not seen that show since I was a little kid. Back then that show was borderline "too much" for the networks. Definitely too much for my mom. We had to sneak watching episodes when she wasn't watching .

I grabbed it off the shelf when I saw it. It was a successful horror/daytime soap opera. Angelique is hot though even with two long fangs.

Oh it was huge way back.
If you look hard enough you might even find the ...wait for it.... remade/reimagined Dark Shadows that came out in the 90's.

Some of the episodes were black and white. Didn't know they remastered them.

No no I mean they did this....
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101075/
The first series came out in 1966. The second in 91.
I think a lot of the BW stuff was somehow creepier

MY GOD..i saw the episode 2 last night..or the first episode after the pilote...wanted to shoot myself after...the whole thing where the kid is the cylon..then she's a teen..then a cylon again...MAKE UP YOUR MIND DAMN IT...annoying like hell. they just slapped a few techno crap on a day time soap opera story and calling it Sci Fi....this show will die VERY fast unless they fire Moore and get some real writters and get it back to BSG basiacly....not a teen soap opera

OK...someone told me that after episode 2, the show was picking up"....huh, picking up what!...Dirt?... I watched EP 3, 4 and 5 and my god, what are the writers smoking!...they are simply destroying everything about the BSG Mythos right now.

First, the Taurons..basicaly a mix of Italians and Jews...so lame. The Mafia Brother is Gay!...totaly stupid. nothing about homos..but it's totaly free in this situation.

Now, Caprica could have been about the RISE of the Cylon..but right now?..it's a Teen Drama about issues and stupid ass religion and Terrorist!...WTF!.

Visualy, even more lame, from any areial shots..looks like a futuristic city..on the ground...looks like any shitty city!....DOH it's WAY to earth base to be even remotly beleivable. they are clearly trying to turn Caprica into something it can't be. A serious Drama.

Why can't it just be a real Sci Fi show?....Sorry..but this show as NOTHING to do with Sci Fi...it's not because there is a robot possessed by a teen girl with issue that it makes it SCI FI..it just makes it more lame.

Dancing-Cylon-Robo-with-a-Teen-Chick-Mind!! Absolute YAY!

Honestly...i was a big fan of the original BSG ( yeah, i know its a cowboy movie in space ) and i really liked the first two seasons of the remake but hey, ..!!!! I watches the 3-4-5 in a row and seriously, i'd rather watch F.R.I.E.N.D.S. again

I wonder where the talented people went from the BSG scenes after the series? Altough i'm not a modeller or an animator genius, but i hoped for somewhat more...

I have to admint, the house droid was funny.....

Dont you think that the cylon girl looks a bit like Willow Rosenberg? (Alyson Hannigan)

I did like the Blade Runneresque large windowed office scene of the city. It was in a show preview....

Not someone that is tootin their own horn. Come on now we've seen the fx for the series so far and they have been looking like someone has been pocketing the money and running without actually doing any work.

First, Ron D Moore is absolutely abysmal at world building. Rebooted BSG looks like he looted Midway's prop room, and Caprica looks like an episode of Icarly. Next, Ron is making a second attempt at making what he wanted to make with BSG, a rebooted Blade Runner. Ron is obsessed with this "what is human concept." He also seems to be either complicit with or under the thumb of Bonnie Hammer, the former head of Sci-Fi, and before the that the head of Lifetime, to make these shows more "female" friendly.

This was stated in the interview when RDM admitted to making BSG more female friendly, and that it turned out the war in space concept might have been off-putting. It was RDM himself who called Caprica "Dallas." I can think of no worse an indictment for a science fiction show than to be compared to Dallas, especially by its creator.

I personally think 90% of the rebooted BSG was melodramatic Soap Operatic fair, and devoid of any Science Fiction. Caprica seems to be coming along and gelding another 9%. The whole Cylon race was started by a super-precocious teen aged girl (a trope that is used to death) and her dad. Oh but it has a killer robot, as if this sort of bone-throwing will work to keep real science fiction fans watching. That doesn't matter anyway. Since SciFi became Syfy, the motives of the people in charge have been clear. Move over geeks (who all live in our parent's basements), we're mimicking the WB on this channel now. We want that tween Twilight audience.

Caprica is a schizophrenic mess that has very little idea what message its trying to impart. If you have no message, other than humans are bastards of course, then you are not making science fiction. Stories with no message, and heavy on interpersonal drama, are called Soaps.

Last Night's episode was well.....

BORING... so much so in fact that I turned it off and continued to go back to working on other things like gouging my eyeballs out and trying desperately to rupture my eardrums.

Next weeks looks promising, but I guess every series has to have a dull ep to get through. Now I'm not entirely 100% sure that RDM is telling the absolute truth when he says that it's female-centric and aimed at that "twilight" audience. If it were it would be on at 7PM on NBC.

What people seem to forget and I will once again remind everyone, it doesn't matter who's heading up SyFy or SciFi or whatever you wanna call it, in the end it's NBC-Universal calling the shots, they are the parent company, they own the brand, the trademarks and the channel, what they say goes, even overriding the puppet heads of the SyFy and USA network divisions. And NBC Universal is not known for being the brightest bulbs in the world since Tartikoff departed the mortal plain. (Can we say PolyGram debacle anyone?)

Guess that's what you get for letting a bunch of alchies run your network (Seagrams)

Is it wrong that I'm hoping that she goes on a date with him, finds out what a dork he is, and decides to put him out of his misery by killing all humans?

Total Crap !!

It's Godfather meets days of our lives !!
Get some guys, dress them in classic italian mafia suits with mafia hats
give them arabic names and call them Taurons (or whatever they are called)

Put some 1972 model french make Citroens on the streets
Exploit the current terrorist stories and sell it as a sci-fi show.? Now that's rich !!

James Cameron takes American indian story, puts it in space and calls it Avatar,
Moore takes Middle eastern terrorist story adds up a spice of italian mafia bullshit throws it into space...

I'm thinking about making my own show, snow white and 7 dwarfs in space.. I think I have a good chance of selling it to any network looking at what's out there..

I hear next weeks episode will have the reunion of the Spice Girls ripping off the multiple mouthed singers from the original series. Oh and at the end of the season they will be asking "Who shot JR?"

Hey, one of these days, the Western is going to come back. Then we'll have "Wagon Train To The Stars" or some bull like that. Or maybe they'll be feeling all multi-cultural and steal from a Japanese Samurai movie.
