Default Star Trek - Earth Outpost 7 WIP

More trek stuff

Nothing spruces up a subterranean asteroid office quite like potted plants
Oh and chairs by seanr, I never did get the hang of modeling those funky 1960s bucket seats myself

I should add that the shuttle is a redressed version of Prologic9's proxy shuttle that was released with his original TOS enterprise

Looks good overall.

The asteroid(?) doesn't look quite right and the edges of the shuttle bay in the fourth image are too sharp against the rock face.

That's neat - and also handily turns it into a 3d chart too!

That looks nice. You've really nailed the lighting and colour of TOS Trek.

Good luck, asteroids are hard. I've been working on one but haven't gotten it to look right yet. I like your office and shuttlebay.

That looks pretty good. There's only a couple of spots where the figure slips across the ground.

I cheated a little, it was animated using Daz, and exported back to LightWave for rendering.. so it was basically a canned Daz Studio walk cycle applied to a LW character

The speed of the shuttle animation is too quick up to the point where it exits the tunnel. At that point there is an abrupt change in pace which does not work well either.

Simple enough fix; just space out the key frames for the rotation and take off. Don't forget to space out your camera key frames as well, otherwise the camera will end up outside while the shuttle is still turning on the platform (I've done that before, heh heh).

If you haven't used it before, the Dope Track makes it easy to select a key frame and drag it to a new position on the time track.

Everything looks amazing!

Wish we could have seen more of the outpost in the original, but this will do.

Just coming along so beautifully, and yes, this very much has the TOS look in terms of lighting, colors and mood. Great stuff!

I still say you've got the best 1960's style lighting I've seen on a CG set. Everything is looking very authentic.

I've had to tweak the lighting somewhat now that I've dropped in a character, to keep him from becoming over-saturated color-wise

The face is from a game mesh, which I've repainted and re-proportioned somewhat.. He looks a little evil looking, which is the hazard of being too lazy to sculpt a face from sratch
The uniform is originally from xcalpro.com
