*meh*

Not crazy with how this one turned out.. too much flying around, not enough happening. Also doesn't seem to be much flow from one shot to the next.

Think I'll start over from shot 1. First things first, stuff needs to happen!

Pegasus should start blasting away as soon as it comes into frame, and probably wouldn't hurt for the raiders to actually do something in response

The way it's stitched together right now Pegasus jumps in ready to fight, and then sits and waits for a whole minute. Same for the cylons.

Overall I think it looks good. But it definitely needs some weapons fire in it and you may even be able to do that in post, if you have the tools for that.

Otherwise, consider this to be an animatic and go back to the drawing board!

The animation, reveal of the sun then the BS in the first one is excellent. Agree with the other guys that some missile trails and animated camera zooms and you've got it nailed. Nice work.

Viper Pilot: "Raiders at 12 o'clock! Everybody flock off!"

At first it looked like a ripple effect, like everything was passing behind a lens.

Meh... I can do better than this. Going to try and work on this some more this weekend. Once I get the basestar looking a little nicer I'm going to revise the animation.

This may wind up being my last big project for a while, so I may as well put some effort into it.

Too much stuff to do in real life, can't afford to keep pouring time into a hobby the way I am now

This is a step in the wrong direction I think. The bumps on the arms look silly, I think I'd be better off with strategically place bump maps instead of actual shifted geometry

Self illumination rig... despite the fact that there really aren't any visible light sources on this thing

Looks great! I always wondered why there were dozens of available classic basestars, but no real new ones.

I would so love to blow it up for you

As you can see, my texturing and modeling of my basestar has a lot of be desired

I liked your YouTube video from March, don't know how I missed it, where did you get the Pegasus mesh? I have an older one that's not textured I got off sci Fi meshes years ago. This is the best basestar mesh I've seen. If you decide to release it please let me know.

Today graciously offered to share the basestar mesh, and posted a gorgeous full res beauty shot in the finished section. btw -- I really Love that self-illuminated rig it comes across beautifully.

That's exactly the one I'm using

I can't release the updated version of Pegasus though, since I basically can't reach the original author anymore.. and I'm not re-uploading someone else's mesh without their ok

I have it, I just need to texture it. I might pick your brain on how you did your copy.
