It just won't be the same without Arnie.
The VFX looks mighty tasty though.

The trailer for a trailer thing is just as silly here as it was when Prometheus did it.

Still, it'll be interesting to see how the trailer is received.

The movie with Arnold was a complete and total waste of the ticket price. This one, hard to say. I'll have to dig up the story and read it again.

bugger, trailer for a trailer and i still missed it! still, looks like they have differed and kept the same, looks more like the sort of blade runner look the tv series had (infact the tv series story line was a lot like blade runner)

Looks a lot more faithful to the book the original film (except the whole mars thing). Looks interesting but why the hell is there a crap fight scene using digital doubles! did they learn nothing from Matrix Reloaded.

Which scene do you mean? There are no digidouble shots in that trailer.

Are you sure? That fight does look like some/all of the stormtroopers are animated.

Watched Arnies TR yesterday. Still a brilliant flick.

If you mean the scene just after the memory implant at Rekall then yes I'm sure. All the police were captured in-camera.

That whole sequence was the stuff shown at Comic-con last year. I know that the clips shown did get leaked but I don't see them on youtube. I'm sure people could track them down if they were determined enough.

Arnie's Total Recall is a brilliantly fun film and possibly his best IMO. It certainly has some of his finest one-liners.

Consider that a divorce!

No kidding! Catfight of the summer! Sign me up. Seriously this looks completely ridiculous and idiotic. That said I *still* might be tempted to see it in the theater.

Yeah I was revering to the scene Cook mentioned. After looking at it again on computer (first time around it was on my phone) I think whats tripping me up is that it's meant to be all one continuous shot but it's clearly three edited together. They have used CGI to hide the cuts, such as a pillar. Also the zooms and speed are obviously all done in post which makes it seem unnatural.

Maybe its some post work or the camera movement - it looks a little fake somehow. Ahh well.

The original was absolutely my favorite Arnold movie. This ... I'm not sure. I'm definitely pleased with Beckinsale and Biel being cast, less so with Farrell but I'll give him a chance.

What I'm concerned about is the story.

I may have misread this entirely, or been misled by incorrect sources (and I really hope this is the case), but it appears that the Mars storyline has been completely eliminated, and now Cohaagen is the president of a Euro-American Union who wants to impose "austerity measures."

Like I said, I really hope that I was just a sucker and this is not for real.

Opening line of the story is "He awoke and wanted Mars."

So, yes.

well bishop, at about 1:55 in the trailer they are in a glass tube with a train passing in the background and a red sky, however all the scenes with the charecter i guess is melliena all seem to be on earth? ( i have not read the books either though)

Went to see this tonight. Have to say I loved it. It's definately a re-imagining. Go to see it on its own merits as a story.

It is a total thrill ride. And talk about eye- candy.

For the VFX folks - there's hardly a shot in e film that doesn't have a stunning effect in it. 'the Fall' in particular is superb.

For the ladies - Colin looks great. Even I fancied him

For the guys - what can I say, Kate Beckinsdale and Jessica Beil, together on the screen, often fighting each other, it doesn't get any better than this

Great film in my opinion.
