Default Glass and Shadows help

It's been ahwile since I've been here but I'm looking for a tutorial or technique for creating a better glass shadow...what I mean is I have no problems creating a great glass texture but the problem is shadows created by the glass object either empty or fill look like crap!

the shadows appear almost like line drawing with the inner and outer shape..

any help would be appreciated. Prefer to correct with LW not 3rd party plugins

Thanks in advance

or the dielectric node as it is a shader and the shodow follows the settings of the shader, also for more simple setups you just need to use the colour filter etc options on the advanced options of the surface diolouge

Hey! He's been building a model with more than 300 moving parts! I think he's got a good reason.
