Default Training - New Lightwave Tutorial on Foundation 3D

Hello everyone;

I have started writing a new tutorial for Lightwave 3D on how to use either Cycler or Cyclist to automate moving parts of a model.

This comes from wanting to change and update the rigging on the MiG 3 I have in the store and I decided I may as well use the exercise as an opportunity to write another tutorial.

The tutorial will be completed over the course of the next few days so you don't have to wait for long.

Visit Using Cyclist and Cycler here.

Rigel, is this applicable to all LW or does it need LW10 or above?

Well done. It's a very useful plugin. I used it a lot on animating the various parts of the bellflower.

I know it's been in Lightwave for quite some time, but I honestly don't know how far back. I would guess version 8 at the least.

That looks interesting. I had a script or plugin a few years ago which was designed to make a wheel or entire vehicle follow a modelled terrain, but I never got it working right.

Did you see the link to my tutorial on that page or was that somewhere else? I didn't see anything on the L-script page.

The link to your tutorial was posted in the Facebook group wall... Sorry I didn't make that clearer...

JackN says Cycler has been around since version 5.6.

I think it was Cyclist, and I seem to remember Dave Jerrard using it in his books of the time...

Geez, it wasn't even up 24 hours and someone linked to it!

If it brings more traffic to Foundation 3D, then good stuff.

Cool tutorial. Just as a side note I also wrote up a bit of a how-to on my blog for cyclist and sliders

Cheers!

Thanks Bob and Craig.

I'll look for that sliders write up Craig.

I recently ran into a model that was set up with sliders and I could not get them to work! Every time I tried to drag a slider, Layout insisted I was trying to move the model.
