Likely the total package deal for every version of the asset(s).
In the trailer we not only see the ship flying, but we see the actors on and around the ramp as a set, so I'm guessing there are at least several scale portions of the ship for different scene purposes. |

Yep Im quite the derpy head, sorry for causing such chinese whispers based on my conjecture and ignorance :P I checked up on it, turns out it was just the total size of the entire archive of textures thus far. The actual texture size for the render model is around 12 gig though. It has over 100 udims each with an 8k map.

Whoa! That's a snazzy craft. How does this thing land though? IN the trailer the engines rotate 90 deg and act like a VTOL setup. But there should be some pretty massive legs/struts,something there. Anyhow, super cool.
Does anyone know who designed it? |

Sean's on about learning Japanese? Well that would just be typical, wouldn't it. The man's not content with hogging talent in the model, sculpting and texturing departments, he's got to go and show off in the language department too

Holy shit! Thanks for posting that. That is one cool ship.
Now I'm not an engineer. However it seems a little weird to have the landing gear where they are? But it sure as hell looks cool! Is the Prometheus supposed to have FTL drives? |

Well, now that UK release of Ironsky has been put back to the end of.May, this will probably be the next film me and the wife go and see.
Thanks for the link Tim. She is begging to be modeled! |

I believe she has Nuclear ION Pulse plasma drive engines that push her beyond the envelope.

And I wonder with render engine(s) they are using. It all looks like rendered with V-ray or something
Really great job... |

Probably Renderman. My understanding is that for film, that's pretty much the standard.

Agree, the trailer is a masterpiece and hopefully Ridley is holding enough back to stun the audience. Great stills so far. My only concern is that, dare I say it, some of the sets look a little plasticky on close inspection and lack the total far out abandon of Giger's early designs. That holographic map of the universe is a stunner though.

Stuff it, I don't think I can bring myself to NOT build this ship. It'll be slow, but I'll try to squeeze it in a bit at a time.
