49% is very nice Colin!....but it looks to me as tho you have 1%

with a little stretching towards the front of the dome

So, having figured out how Maya deals with images as Specular and Glossiness controllers, I am now heading in a generally forward direction. This may be a bit of a slow process getting all the maps the way I would like them but here's a first look.

I'm not happy with the glass the way it is at the mo. I may actually break it up depending on whether I need to get this close to the Guage in the final renders.

.Did you model him in maya and if so how do u find modelling in maya compared to lightwave?

Yes I modelled him in Maya.
Well, imagine you want to get to San Fransisco and you are living in LA. With LW you would take the freeway. With Maya you would go via Seattle, across to Victoria Canada and then back down behind the Rockys.
Maya is really great at a lot of the modelling tools in its toolbox. It just seems that you can do it so much easier and quicker in LW.
One thing I would like to see in LW is something like Autodesk's deforming lattice. That tool saves a heap of time.
