Great modelers make mistakes, they just never post them!!! The level of my modeling and rendering skills depend largely on my motivational level... Obi-Wan Kenobi waves his hand in front of J.J. Abrams and says. "This is not the Enterprise they were looking for..." |

Weird, kind of cool though. Is this supposed to demo a game engine or a new console?

Thing is I'm not seeing anything here that can't already be done with existing engines like Unreal or Unity. It's just a matter of setup. Cool animation though

Apparently running realtime on a PS3. I thought I read somewhere that they were going to offer the demo up for download on PSN, but that would be a first if they did.
This is from the creators of Heavy Rain, for the curious. They did a similar demo prior to that game called "The Casting", I think. Used the technology that would later be used in Heavy Rain, but wasn't directly related. The same thing here with "Kara", it's supposed to be a test of the character animation technology for their next game, and it's a strong hint that it will be science fiction of some sort. |

Trailer for Portal 3?
Aside from that, jesus christ, that was stunning for realtime stuff. Looks just as good as most of the pre-rendered PS3 sequences. |

Amazing, but it was enclosed in a room. I wonder how far the engine can display and stay realtime. And what processing was going on in the background. In a game there has to be a lot going on to make it a game, AI, physics etc. If this was all scripted and pushing the cells to the max, it can't really be turned into a game.
And, they should have fried her. It's chicks like that that turn into T-1000's ![]() |
