How easy do you find t to get a specific look you want, as opposed to generating random cool stuff?

Can you pull out separate channels, for example isolating the bump from a texture?

Pretty simple really.. Its nodal based, plenty of samples to tear apart, like 8000+ samples to tear into...

I have just really started to tear into it...

its alot of funnnnn..

Its really fast, takes all 12 cores to the stress point
renders up to 65000 x 65000 resolution

hers the normal map for the previuos post

Can it handle other mappings? For example making a seamless texture for a sphere?

I'd be really grateful if you could - If it can do stuff to help me make detailed planet textures I'd very probably buy it - and there are only a couple of days left at sale price!

I'm not convinced that mucking about with polar transforms would deliver the results I am after...

I really don't understand the screenshot - on that it doesn't look like a map for 3d at all...

And judging by the atmosphere on the one you linked to, that's a flat rendered image...

That was an sample..

You have to edit the nodes to get the 3d thingys..
There arent to many using it for 3D applications, but ...

yes its a 2d, but if you plug the nodes in you can get the normalmap ..spec map, alpha map etc etc

I guess the tinkering begins, to get it up to 3D specs for use on poly balls..

I had an exchange on the FF forums, and came to the conclusion that it won't do this without a lot of manual fiddling, which rather destroys the point of the software for me.

On a more positive note, from what I was told there, the software is almost always on sale at a hefty discount!
