![]() I just watched this movie, while it was good I just don't understand one thing, if Hugo and the other people where French, why did they have English accents? Like Picard.

![]() When Scorcese cast the actor playing the main boy - who is English - he didn't want to 'dilute' his performance by having him speak with an accent, insisting instead that everybody else match his accent rather than all the characters speaking differently.
