As nice as this is in a realistic render.. it just screams out to be cell shaded.

I had to correct lots of dirty small polygons for starting UV mapping

I have always wondered how the gun pod is attached to the airframe when in normal flight mode. Is it just 'wedged' somehow between the folded arms? Does anyone know if there's an image, or an explanation of how this mechanism works?

Both arms have a little indent to accept the handle in flight mode:

Alternately, the older toys had a little clip that attached to the arm to hold the gun.

The cartoon doesn't have either feature, however, so it's probably just a bit of cartoon magic.

I have lots of mysteries that should be resolved before that...

Some latest images are shown as below.
I'm going to tackle with other non-3D works for a few weeks, so I guess that next update would be posted around the middle of May or later.

Oh, I see! I saw those notches in tan's previous posts, but for some reason, I didn't associate the two. Now that makes much more sense to me. Thank you so much bri~

I set up a test rig for transformation into the gerwalk mode and the battroid mode today. Though I found a few problems should be resolved, the rig seems to be promising basically

That seems to work very well. The transformation happens fast enough that I can't see exactly what is happening, which is usually a good thing.

Love it, just utterly love it

The transformations really seem to be working well, the missle shots were spot on tests, and even the fully transformed acrobatics are solid tests -- again, just love it!
