Vehicles - I'm Batman
Okay, so I'm not Batman. But for just a few minutes this afternoon one of my childhood dreams came true.
I ran into a fellow citizen of London, ON who now owns one of the beautiful Batmobile replicas from Fiberglass Freaks. He was sitting in a parking lot with his son, talking to another fan. I pulled in and jumped out with the camera. As I was photographing it, he said the magic words: "Would you like to sit in it?" In the family photo on the business card, he looks quite happy, dressed up as Robin. I think he was just shy about the fuss and attention. After all, he's not old enough to understand what it means to come into contact with a cultural icon, he just knows that adults act funny around daddy's car.

Very cool Rigel!
I've got a buddy who has the most accurate Herbie replica in Canada if not North America.*People are constantly taking pictures. He's got the wipers, horn and lights on remote as well as a 'pee' tank behind the back tire. A couple weeks ago he got married at a local winery and there were a couple buses of Korean tourists who were taking pictures in front of his car prior to the ceremony (of which Herbie was a part). |
