Also I would like to give a big shout out to Bob. I was having trouble with the bottom recesses until I remembered some advice he gave to another member about beveling on a curved surface. Copy the stencil template, increase the size of the copy and stencil a ring around the actual polys to be beveled. Worked like a charm. So thanks Bob, where ever you are.

Carry on Pheylan, nothing for you to see here.

Yet.

Just spending a lazy Sunday lounging around so nothing really new to show. I did take some time to update my layout ship with the latest stuff and refined the blocked in sections so they look more true to form.

BTW, I uploaded the Vespasian, so I have escaped the wrath of the stick. Better Luck next time!

LOL

But, the pointy stick has done its job. It rarely needs to be applied; the mere threat has always been enough to motivate! Worked on you, hee hee.

Thanks. It might be awhile until I try to tackle the secondary hull because I want to complete the saucer and nacelles first. Now that I've got the Star Trek bug, there are a few other ships I am interested in building on the side.

(Don't ask which...it's a surprise).

Turning my attention to the topside, desks two and three are now under construction.

I think the back corners are a tiny bit too round compared to the Enterprise but hey, it's a different ship and a non-cannon one to boot. So at this point I'm satified with it.

Zounds! I just realized that at some point, I'm going to have to do the officers lounge. ...and I thought the exterior of the ship was hard enough.

You are the master of the smooth hull.

Officer's lounge shouldn't be that hard. The hard part will be punching window holes through that beautiful hull and keep it looking smooth.

Awww shucks...it's not all that much.

But thanks.

Some more on the bridge superstructure. Also, I added some color just to make it look purdy. (Note: I changed the color of the block sections to dark blue so as to not confuse them with actual colors of finished parts).

This will it for a few days on the Belknap. I'm taking a detour while I start on a project that I've been itching to do for a long time. The good news is that it ties in nicely with this ship....so stay tuned.

That looks good except for the sharp edges at the back corners of the duck egg blue section. It strikes me they should match the curve of the hull above and below.

Hmmm...I'm not sure which edges you mean. If it's the lines separating the darker and light blue sections, it might be a trick of lighting you're seeing.

Here's a screen grab of that area. If you see something that I am missing please point it out. I welcome a helpful second pair of eyes.

I circled what I'm looking at. But looking at the wireframe shot, I guess it is just a trick of the light as the mesh obviously curves smoothly there.

Yeah, staring at it there's no real definition of shape so it gives the illusion of being flat. That will change when I add in the dreaded windows you mentioned.
