Default Star Wars

I watched it yesterday.
Since a lot of you still don´t watched it, I won´t give you any spoilers.

I will just say that, for me, the movie was a huge disappointment. Lots of bad acting and bad storytelling. The movie don´t flow the way it should be. There are good moments, sure, but I think the bad moments are more common.

Well, watch for yourself and next week we can discuss the movie in details.

I've got my ticket to see it a week from tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it. I liked both Rouge 1 and TFA, but I must confess, my expectations were very low after the loose bowel movement that was the prequels.

I'll just have to wait and see.

I watched it yesterday and I have to disagree, I thought it was great. Some things could have been better but overall, I enjoyed it.

I guess you aren't going to trust my scores but that's fine, everyone has their own opinion.

Star Wars __95__/100
ESB __99__/100
RotJ __80__/100

I actually didn't hate the prequels as much as most people.

Phantom Menace ___25_/100
Attack of the clones _25___/100
Revenge of the Sith __30__/100

Rogue One _99__/100

The Force Awakens _90___/100
The Last Jedi ___90___/100

I just don't get why people don't like it? Was it perfect, no but it was fun to watch and that's what I care about the most.

I seem to have lost the urgency to watch this. It seems to be getting a negative reaction.

Don´t get me wrong friends, but I think that a better name to TFA would be "The shit awakens"

Sorry, but I never could understand why everybody likes Empire so much. Although it has some good parts, as a whole, its the weakest of the original trilogy. And yes! TFA way above Empire. I enjoyed it TFA very much and was about as good as you could possibly get considering the 33 year gap between ROTJ and TFA that created a lot of plot problems. Over all, it loved it! A great introduction of new and interesting characters along with the old favorites. My biggest complaint about TFA is that they should have made it twenty years ago.

P.S. Oh, and the scene on the big ship when the monsters got out was kind of dumb, but nobody's perfect.

I thought TLJ was pretty damn good. I'll be seeing it again with my friends, probably more than once.

I just got back from watching it. I enjoyed it but I thought the pacing was off on some points. Overall, though a good movie.

I thought it was great. Aside from a few fit-and-finish complaints (would it had killed them to slip in a line saying Holdo was playing things close to the vest because she thought there may be a mole on-board giving away their position?), my biggest complaint was that the main three were split off, which is a shame because the rapports between Rey and Finn and Finn and Poe were the highlights of TFA. Granted, that's all in the structure, and ESB had the same issue to a lesser extent, but I'm hoping Finn, Poe, and Rey will spend a good chunk of Episode XI teamed up, and having banter which resolves the incipient love-polygon to my satisfaction. Also, I'm still hoping my old theory that they'd all end up being Jedi pans out.

There is something else, that isn't really a criticism, but an observation I just heard that I agreed with. Structurally, it didn't feel like a single movie so much as a binge-watch of a serialized TV show. Which is funny, because I saw someone else recently, sarcastically remark that after all the people describing their season-long plot arcs as "more like a 13-hour movie than a TV show," how long would it take for someone to make something that was more like a two-hour TV season than a film? I think we found it, and it was interesting.

Saw TLJ yesterday. For the most part, I enjoyed it, but I'm still kind of processing for there was a lot going on. It's very dark, much like ESB, where things have to get grim before the final victory in the last chapter of the trilogy.

It was full of unexpected moments and for that reason and others, I think eventually it will be recognized as one of the better installments of the whole saga.

Cheers!

Everyone is missing something VERY important here!

Are there lots of spaceship designs that have you reaching for your mouse, to model them?

I like the Bunkerbuster, the small cruiser built on a Blockade Runner chassis. The Supremacy was also pretty neat, in its Sideways-Homeworld-Mothership way.

It's one thing for you haters not to like TFA, that's your opinion but to tell other people we are wrong if we like it is also wrong. It's like me telling the fans of the new Star Trek show they shouldn't like it because I don't. We all have our own opinions. I really could care less if anyone else hates The Force Awakens, I liked it.

I can't make them but I'd love to have several of them, esp the new First Order ships

I felt like TLJ makes TFA retroactively a better movie. Reframes it as a story of a New Republic that forgot the lessons of the Old Republic and allowed the First Order to grow and fester right in their heart.

I saw TLJ Tuesday evening. I have to say, I've gone to the Light Side on this one; I quite thoroughly enjoyed it!

Maybe it wasn't well written (what Star Wars movie ever was?), maybe it has pacing problems (what Star Wars movie doesn't?) but I don't go to Star Wars movies to see outstanding examples of exemplary film making. I go to be entertained. I was entertained! I enjoyed this far more than TFA but not as much as Rogue One (perhaps).

Now then, waiting to be entertained by the Han Solo movie.

@Starbase1 didn't see any compelling ship designs. But then, I'm also out of the 3D hobby and have been for about a year or more.
