A few experiments for the weekend. Good fun and something I was planning to do a series of but I had an idea for something else I want to try.

I don't know what to say. They are just superb. The colours, the DOF, the lighting... superb.

Hi everyone, I've been swamped with work and moving etc so I haven't had much time to play with new images. This was created for a lady making these for a charity event and asked me to come up with something for the stand. Good fun and I finally got the chance to play with some new tricks.

Yuck... give me Vegemite any day

Great work, thought the bread/toast looks a bit too thin.

One more play while I had a few hours. This one is a recreation of an image I created years ago with paints and Photoshop. Good fun to do.

I wanted to try something colourful and keep the sweets theme going. There's a lot of images online of them grouped and layered on top of each other. Doing that by hand with 100+ objects would take a while which is fine but these are meant to be quick tests to learn Octane etc. So I used Bullet Dynamics to create the effect. Ive attached the low-res animation. To make the extra layers I saved the MDD file and then cloned it three times to get more objects in the final render. Good fun and I hope you like it.

Rigel: You mean he wasn't on that list already? Surprised.

Escelle: In the still, is there any SSS being used? It looks to me like it could use a little (or a little more). They look good enough to eat though

Inspired by Paul Knott. Nice Sunday project and gave me a chance to play with some settings I hadn't tried before.

Looks great. A bit of graininess but great. And what are these settings you were trying?

Bob: I wont build my hope up just yet, I keep looking at what everyone else is doing:-)

Gordon: This was set to 12,000 samples and took over two hours so I was surprised by the graininess too, but not going to set it much bigger as just wanted to try out the exposure, Fstop settings and the ones with the PMC Kernel. I Really need to learn all of these things as I keep finding them too late after a project. Why these images are fun but more than that.... Necessary:-)

This one was more about the dynamics and seeing how far I could push the polygon count in a short time. This is 12 million polygons and the calculation was done in less than three minutes. Very impressed. I set the object type to box and the frame count on the world settings to 60 fps. The pro's out there will say its not as accurate but for our tight deadlines it worked ok.
