Ah yeah the steam punk Artoo, yeah looks pretty cool (although I do want to come back and do the original McQuarrie concept for Artoo at some point ).

OK another iray "test" render of a rather clean Artoo (don't worry he will be back to being his usual dirty self soon).

I am starting down the long road of building a real version so I am playing around with where I am going to put him in my living room, so here is plan A

Edit: Dammit, just noticed Artoo is missing his knurl fittings on his feet... (bah).

I am loving iray more and more (again) each day...

OK continuing to update Artoo's textures, dirtying him up, going for the ANH look and feel

Thanks guys, and lots more detail to get back into him, currently only the main body front has had a full texture pass (excluding adding scratches/bumps)

I know he is not an Astromech but he is an Astromech's best friend (started him some time ago and really do need to finish him one day )

And for the heck of a different angle on Artoo

Artoo is beginning to look very real now.

Nice start on C-3PO. You really must finish him.

I've been meaning to ask about your R2 - why the three little blue panels at the bottom?

They are a recent addition, it was something I did on a different custom droid (for one of the R2 builders), and they grew on me so added them to Artoo

Here we are at another month behind us and time to change out the front page images. And as usual, it was a lengthy process picking them. There was so much incredible work but had to whittle it down to just six. Thanks for making it so difficult, it's a real pleasure for me. Congrats on the front page slot.
