Default Star Trek - USS Enterprise Phaser Test

This cover art has always inspired me. It was a collaborative effort; Production Illustrator Jim Martin designed the art, executing it in a series of progressive pencil sketches. The art was subsequently turned over to freelancer Mikido Uesugi and John Knoll.
Here is my version using Graham Gazzard (GrahamTG) Space-art with Asteroids.. and my Classic USS Enterprise letting rip with main phasers (a weapons test)

Good use of DOF, nicely composed image

Bit of glow needed on bussards? whatever them red engine things are, considering all the glow effects in scene, wouldn't go amiss.

And you call them sparklers lasers? Good job it's just a test and that them Shadows are in a different universe

Jokin' aside, cool image GMD3D.

Very nice! I like the blue tone better than the yellow one you posted on Facebook.

I love it. There's something about the image, maybe it's the way the Enterprise is lit, or just the overall tone that reminds me of a Ralph McQuarrie painting.

Oh, good, there wasn't something wrong with my phone

Same here on the coloring, by the way.

thanks I have been tweaking it some and playing with the look of the phaser cutting through the asteroid, in the second image I moved the model forward a little

Your renders are quite nice. For the version when the Enterprise is a bit closer, how about adding some reddish white reflective hits on the forward saucer edge--and possibly the dish. That burning rock plasma is surely intense. Maybe?

Maybe a touch more red hue to the saucer front? And I think I prefer the laser damage (nearest camera) on the asteroid from the first pic of post #3.

Other than that, I'd sign it off as done GMD3D Just my humble opinion o/c, cool image.

Beauteous! The Enterprise appears more intimately connected with the scene.
