Made a backdrop i liked so i stuck a familiar ship in there.

Relying on fractals way too much for the background there... kinda ruins it for me. I'd say go with a little more of a nebula - perhaps a touched up photograph. Also I'd recommend adding more glow to the engines.

and i think it portrays what i wanted it to ie my version of FTL travel.
it isnt a starry background its an FTL tunnel.

Not a huge fan of the background but I like the overall composition a lot.

The creation method of the background is inconsequential with regards to the relevance of the effect of the "artwork" and the background is going to be subjectively "marmite"....

you will either hate it or love it.

I personally like it a lot - it's a cool take on a FTL optical effect
