Saw that recently. Amazing model. Didn't realise it was done in sketchup.

I'm amazed quite regularly by what SU modelers are outputting lately.
This guy is exceptional. Would love to see this rendered in another package and not just paint overs in PS. Possibly with the guns all firing

That's very impressive have to agree with Mikala about some of the quality work that is being produced with sketch up.

I wonder how come Google Sketch Up handled that much detail... So why we using expensive high-end software?...

The impression I got is that it's Sketchup is good for certain modeling tasks (like the hard surface stuff here), but there's tons of stuff it doesn't do (particles, sims, deformers, animation, etc, etc).

Also, looking at this again, the model looks like it's built with NURBS. It's certainly not subd, so if this was going to be used for a film, or whatever, it would have to be remodeled I think? For example, the shapes in his pics have no bevels at all, which would make renders look a little weird, right?

Anyhow, it's an amazing model without a doubt!

I believe it is for a online game, Star Conflict’s(http://www.star-conflict.com/en/). So no beveling
