Fixed? Works for me in LW.

Actually the problem lies within the mesh as exported into object format. I've tried various things to eliminate the problem but have had no success thus far because I don't know why it's happening. I'll try exporting it from LW9.3 and see if it still occurs. Originally exported from LW7.5d.

Note: that didn't work either.

Oh dear, that's a terrible shame. I hope you do manage to get it sorted eventually.

I assume that you are referring to the LW => obj format export of that nurnie? Perhaps the cure is to export it in parts for re-assembly within the application of choice. I'll give that a go.

Sounds perfectly logical to me, I hope it works.

The problem lies with the large vent in center. That is the export doesn't like the multiple joins for some reason. I may to remake this. The alternative (repair) is way too much trouble for a greeble. Removing 4 melded polys gets rid of the problem but some of the surfaces have to be reconstructed thereafter - namely the tops of the spokes and tops of some of the facing rings. If you have an app that can edit objects then this can be done by the user if you need the obj format.

Otherwise sit on your hands until I get up the will (read - a number of margaritas) to remake it.

Ah well... It would probably be easier for me to simply remake it in Wings3D from scratch using the image I can see of it as a reference, but that might create a copyright problem. Not sure about the ins and outs of that aspect.

It was the first greeble I'd downloaded from here, just because it looked so fascinating to me.

In remaking it in Wings I'd probably get bored just doing a straight copy and I'd therefore probably change it somewhat anyway... It's an idea though... if you don't mind me doing that - copying it, with variations that is.

Great, Thanks. I'll do that once I've got my website problems sorted, struggling a bit with that at the moment.

It would be nice if we could get some entries here and just from those of us who have already contributed.

Elowan, you've got your own little universe going on here.

Did I say that I am really glad you suggested this? If not I am now, great idea you had.

Hi all. I seem to recall, ages ago I made a feeble attempt at doing something for this thread.

Now that eons have passed I wonder if I might ask a question about uploading to the resource library.

If I have a .lwo with 10 layers, a seperate greeble in each layer, regarding the .obj aspect, would it be acceptable to export each layer to obj and zip them all up in a sort of greeble pack, or should I upload them all as seperate files?

thanks

Group them with a copy of the multi-layered LW version. The idea of including an obj file is to make these available to as many users as possible and thnx.

Enough talking, I don't see any of these new designs in the resources.
