UPDATE...
I'm finishing up work on the cargo container modules. I have yet to figure out where to place the door so cargo can actually be put in the containers. I do know I want them on one or both of the large flat parts.

Very nice design. I always assumed the ends of the containers popped off like the top on a Pringles can of chips.

I always thought that to. I just thought it was too much of a week point while pulling a train. Plus I like the look of the door on the botttom of the container.

I don't know who is responsible for maintenance on those containers but I think they are doing a really poor job.

Pakleds, the lazy bastards.

I've added more details to the Tholian ship and beveled a few edges. I also changed the glowy bits with the help of Apophosis. I like this version much better than the other one.

Very nice.
Never thought of Apo as a texturing tool! Thanks for a great idea.

Great design work on the cargo containers for the tug.

The Tholian spinner is looking good too.

Thank you.

UPDATE...
I have a smattering of different ships here. More examples of textures for Ptolemy's cargo modules. I've also included the work I did for the Kelvin's windows and a new idea for a heavy tug/transport

Everything looks nice. But I think the heavy tug concept is a bit of overkill. After all, the containers can already be linked together into a train, allowing a tug to tow 3 or 4 at a time, so why complicate things by having them side by side?

Instead of 3 or 4 containers this one can carry 6 or 8. Atleast that's my excuse. I just like the way it looks.

I was never really sold on the whole Ptolemy concept, I always thought they'd go for something more similar to a modern container ship. Rather than huge pods being dragged around I'd go for a flying warehouse or a platform that holds the containers snugly. The pod seems redundant to me, a wrapper around a wrapper to allow a specialised ship to carry goods. Why not just have that specialised ship just carry the containers directly?

Did I mention your models look superb, by the way? Lovely texturing job too.

"I just like the way it looks" is always a good reason in science fiction!

It's not a 'good' reason, but it certainly seems to be an important one.

UPDATE...
Well I figured this thing was so damn close to being finished I might as well push it over that edge. I textured the neck that connects to the secondary hull. And I addded windows and textures to the secondary hull. Since the navigation deflector has been moved I added a texture to the lower sensor dome under the saucer. Now all I really need to do is change some of the names and this one is finished. So it can blast the crapola out of some Klingons.

UPDATE...
I've gone back and added textures to the warp engines of the U.S.S. Archer. I also added small details and textures to the warp pylons. I may make new textures for the opposite engine so they don't look the same.

UPDATE...
Well I was hoping that I wouldn't start another ship before the end of the year, but recently got a copy of the new Art of Star Trek book and I've got a bunch of new ideas in my head. This is based on the new Klingon ship.

I had to get mine at Best Buy because none of the local bookstores carried it.

UPDATE...
More of my Klingon ship.
I've added a photon torpedo tube and some cut outs to the lower front part of the upper deck.
Second I've added stuff the sides of the upper deck. A few details behind the bridge and most importent. Two disrupters.
The last picture shows more details behind the bridge and some changes made to the neck to make look a bit more beefy.
