Default Job Openings - Ubisoft Massive Cinematics Department is looking for a Generalist 3D Artist...

Hi people,

One of our fulltime staff members has decided to leave us. Because of that, we now need to fill that position asap!

Position: Generalist 3D Artist with focus on character modeling and texturing

Skills required: Ability to model, texture, shade and light a human character to photoreal quality. The artist also need good modeling and texturing skills for photoreal hardsurface objects.

Software knowledge: Z-Brush + any of the following applications: Maya, LightWave, 3DS Max or Modo

Since we are a small team we need a generalist artist who can jump in and help out with other tasks if need be, such as Layout (animatic, pre-production), Renderwrangling, animation-related tasks, compositing etc.

A huge plus is also ability to do Storyboarding and/or Concept Art.

This position requires you to relocate to Malmö, Sweden.

It will also be posted at www.massive.se but I got an OK to post this joboffer on the forums.

If you are interrested, contact me at: mikaelb (at) massive.se with CV, Showreel etc. Don't send large files, it is much better if you host them somewhere and send links.

Cheers!

I see you've met some of the groups that reached out to me recently, then.

Seriously, here are phrases I'm tired of hearing:
  • "Small job now, but promise of more work in the future."
  • "Can you perform this work on spec?"
  • "Please perform this work pro-bono, so we can evaluate your skills."
These days I live by my Statement of Work, and don't do a lick of work until I get it signed by the client. Sure, it means I don't work as often, but at least this way the business relationship is established up-front.

Back to the topic...

Wow, I'd love to perform this work. I'm just in the wrong location for it.

This is a topic that I think needs more discussion, but needs to be moved to the Cafe, and not continued in this thread. I'm going to start a thread for it in the Cafe, and repost your post to start it off...
