Default LightWave - Starship multipass renders

Does anyone recommend an approach to setting up quick methods for turning on and off illuminated textures on objects for doing multi pass renders?

For an example, how about the Enterprise? A quick way to turn on/off the illuminated textures on the windows, deflector dish, nacelles without having to go into each texture material and manually doing it every time.

In Lightwave you can create an envelope on pretty much everything. So open the texture panel, select the window texture, look for the button labelled E next to the luminosity channel and go to it. What you do is set a key frame at 100% (or whatever your luminosity value is), set another key frame to 100%, then set one to 0%.

If you want the window lit for 60 frames, not lit for 60 frames, then light up again, your envelope might look like this:

Frame 0 100%
Frame 60 100%
Frame 61 0%
Frame 120 0%
Frame 121 100%

That way, as you render, the windows will turn off and on automatically. You then just set up your camera or model to repeat the motion across those frames.

Thanks for the idea. For now I'm trying it with multiple models that I just replace depending on what pass I'm going to render. Like one model only has the windows texture illuminated, while another model only has the nacelles on.

I guess I was hoping for a simple slider or something to quickly turn on or off certain illuminations. Granted I'm on LW 2015 so maybe 2019 has something for this.
