Not at all. Sometimes real life gets in the way though.

UPDATE...
Well I'm finally back at it.
The ship is nearly finished. I just have to fix some minor mesh errors on the bottom of the saucer and finish the textures for the shuttle and I can put a big done stamp on it.
These aren't the official orthos but the ship is done enough at this point to do them.

UPDATE...
While adding a new texture to the back of the shuttle I thought about two more ideas.
A. Is a small shuttle pod. Kind of like the one from Star Trek: Enterprise.
B. Is the standard shuttle.
C. Is a large shuttle used by larger ships and ground and space stations. I was thinking something like the shuttles used in the new Star Trek movie.

UPDATE...
Well I couldn't keep myself from working on a Trek ship so I opened my Wip folder and the first file I had was the U.S.S. Archer. I rebuilt the Catamarans and started to detail the thingy that is between them.

UPDATE...
I feel that Iíve finished the thingy between the cats. And Iíve got the final shape for them and added new phasers to replace the ones that got covered up. Now I can work on the details and finish up the warp pylons.
I think I have the names for the other ships.
Archer
Tucker
Forest
Akira
Thunderchild

In both of ours, we've pointed it downwards, which would seem to make more sense than what Joseph originally worked up. I suspect that a Dreadnaught version would have the same orientation for the third engine in order to align all three warp fields towards one common center.
Umm, no he didn't. He shows it rotated down. If you look at the profile plan you can see what he calls the "Inlet flow sensor, control loop, and outlet flow sensor" sticking out from the bottom of the nacelle. Also, on the page for Main Propulsion, there is a note that reads : "Unit V is rotated 90ļ to bottom C/L on MK-VIII and MK-VII models" (ie the destroyer and scout classes, respectively).
Unit V is the grill and all the assorted detail, btw.

UPDATE...
The cats are coming along. I donít want to go too crazy on the details on these. So Iím a little stuck on what I want to do. I now see a few mesh errors that need to be fixed. I know Iíll add a few more windows but Iím not sure if I want to move the shuttle bays to the cats or not, that will be alot of work removing the ones on the saucer unless I just convert the other one to a second cargo bay.

UPDATE...
Work on the Archer has stalled a little until I think of what I want to do with it so I've gone back to the U.S.S. Ptolemy.
I decided that the cargo container should open from below. In the pic I show it with warp engines but it can also be fitted with different modules to carry many other thing. I thought hinges for the doors might be a good idea so I added those and some detail to the inner doors. I'm thinking about some kind of control room or monitor room inside the container also. I angled the warp engines a bit more to move them farther from the container and I also moved them up a little.

The old Federation tug; now there's one you don't see modelled very often. Come to think of it, I've never seen anyone model it before.

I need something for my other ships to shoot at so I went back and reworked a few bits on my Tholian ship. There's not much done so far but I have added a web spinner. The last pic shows scale.

UPDATE...
The ships starting to come along nicely. I'm happy with it so far even though it still is kind of simple looking. The red and blue texture is a temp but closer to what I actually want done.

It looks nice. It's certainly better realized than the original model was.

Nicely done so far. Also the comparison to the figure next to it, kinda puts into perspective just how tough these little ships were. One took a full blast from the Tos Enterprise's phasers and still kept on going!

No these aren't based on the remastered version. This is based more on the version from Enterprise. I'll probably will dump the red and replace it with green.

UPDATE...
I've added more details and what I'm guessing are windows. At least based on my references that's what they look like to me. The last picture is done without any lights. I don't see haveing a lot more to do. Just a few more details and some chamfered edges.

UPDATE...
Gone back to work on the mediem tug/transport.
Pic 1 shows the beginning of the connection point for the primary container. This will allow other containers to connect to this one.
Pic 2 shows what will become an observation room. I still have to add tractor beam and force field emitters to keep the cargo in place. The room textures are temp.
Pic 3 shows how the room looks on the inside and what will become another type of cargo container.
