Talking LightWave - Bulb Plant Pucker

Hey everybody,

I'm trying to do a cartoon with a bulb plant that opens, swallows a character, and closes again. I can do a simple morph for the opening and closing, but does anybody know how to make the edges of the opening pucker as it closes, like a bag tied with a string?

Thanks in advance,

I'd probably use morphs for that, too, just build them into the mesh. You can make them independent of the size of the opening, so you can adjust them on the fly.

Hey Jedi,

Thanks for the response. I guess I was not clear enough. I know how to use morphs, but I need help with the actual modeling of opening, when its closed tight, I need it to pucker, like lips when the are ready to kiss.

Does anybody know how to go about that in modeler?

Thanks,

Try to model grooves on basemesh and smooth those in separate morph. then try mixing opening morph and smoothed morph.
