That Batsuit looks heavy, I would hate to wear that all day filming, it does look great.

Rubber superhero costumes generally tend to weigh in anywhere from 40 to 60 pounds total. What makes them truly insufferable is the fact that they are rubber, so it's like wearing rubber gloves all day, but over your whole body.

This latest batsuit is much improved over earlier models, as it's more flexible and probably better ventilated. The fight double for Michael Keaton mentioned that he would throw a kick then the suit would pull his leg back like a giant rubber band. He also mentioned that the thick rubber also allowed his martial arts school students (who were doing the fight scenes with him) were able to actually punch and kick him and he barely felt it because the rubber was so thick.

To me the Batman costume looked a lot more segmented than other models giving the actor or stuntman's body more room to breath. It looks like the actor wore an undersuit made of some type of material with the rubber pieces laid over leaving significant areas able to breath.
The head piece though looks like a nightmare to wear along having to stretch it enough to put on and take off.

It's entirely possible that the mask was split somewhere (likely the neck piece) and glued shut once it was on.
