I made the grey council chamber to use it later as "cockpit" for the sharlin.

And so this little pic is emerged.
It's nothing big, but i like it.

I started to make this beautiful ship.
The Valen from TLT.
It is hard to get the right shape...

Ahh very nice. Yours is the first time I've seen somebody attempt it.

I wouldn't wonder if I'm the only one who will ever attempt it.

I modified the basic shape a little bit. I think its closer to the original one now.

Don't look at the subdivision at this point of modelling. Most of the objects are still Hypernurbs and i will decide the settings for them later.

I made a little break from the Valen and finished the texture of the Corumai.
Aside from that i try to give the old minbari station a new design. I think it looks more like a station of the warrior caste now.^^

I have to ask, since this is for a game mod project...

Are these models going to be used for baking normal-map detail onto a lower-poly mesh? I ask because as it stands, those are very beautiful meshes, but the poly counts are *really* high for realtime engine rendering, even by today's hardware standards and taking into account a spaceflight game.

Thanks! and

No, these are the models we use in the game. The polycount of the original ships and stations of the game are often higher than our B5 models.

Yep, this work continues to be great.

Now, if only X3 were a good game and didn't handle like a three legged obese donkey on crack

Lovely work!
I think the Minbarri tall ships were what first attracted me to the series, and I still think they are the best for a combination of grace and menace.

Hey thats awesome. But one thing I think drags it down is the generic panels texture.

I'm glad you like it.

Well, yes thats right, but i don't have the time to make a unique texture for all the ships, because then we will never finish the mod.

Maybe later when i make a high poly version.

I'm not sure about this one...
It should be a minbari bomber or corvette.
What do you think of it?

The second pic is from the Narn station that was made by Lc4Hunter. One of our mod members. I think he did a great job on it!!

And the third pic is my IPX Explorer with the good old B5 texture.^^
I know, the blue stripes on the bridge aren't perfect.^^

All very cool! The third one is perhaps a little too Explorer-kitbash-y, but it's still a cool design. Nice work

I think the Minbari one would be moe in keeping with the other Minbari ships if it had a vertical fin above or below...

I love your textures dude! And I don't think the polys are that high. The average ship poly count in X3 is 25k. I've had a ship in game with 300k and frame rate was fine. It's completely unrealistic to have models with that many polys (early testing) but it does demonstrate how robust the engine is.

I'm glad you like it!

Well, the IPX explorer is a special design of the EA explorer. IPX ordered this one from the EA. They only want to have a few modifications like two artificial gravitation rings for labs with different gravitation's and so on.
