Default Looks like some one is 3d printing our files!

https://www.turbosquid.com/Search/Artists/Daniel314
Have found a bunch of my files in this guys list, so he is making a profit from freely available meshes, I'm guessing many of the others came from here too as there all B5 etc, but if like me you purposefully model errors maybe you can find yours too!

Hey, my Puddle Jumper is way better than that one! I'm a little offended.

I also notice Dean Scott's Babylon 5 in the mix. That's the drawback to easy HD-screencapping compared to the old days; models are a lot less distinctive.

I am pretty sure that i have seen that Vorchan cruiser model before. I remember that nose shape. Was it Meurigs or Fabios?

Can't be 100% certain...but that sure looks like Meurig's Sharlin...and I doubt Fabio or Rhys will be impressed if he's making money from their models...

One thing's for sure, he probably didn't model all those ships

No it isn't Meurigs Sharlin. Meurigs has a little mistake in it. He only made one hole per rib on the sides. This one has the correct two per rib. And it isn't as organic as Meurigs.
And it isn't Fabios because he made those dots only with the texture.
It might be one of the much older models. I have one of those and it does look very much like that. Can't remember who made it...

Fair enough Amras, like I said I wasn't 100% sure but still reckon anyone with models here should take a look just in case...

It doesn't seem to match Tom Banner or Mark Kane's model, either. They both have the antenna under the "claw" at the base of the vertical fin, whereas this one just duplicates of of the detailing from below it. I suppose it's possible there was some modification done to make it easier to print, aside from just cutting it up.

yes, I am having that problem on other sites at the moment, someone has taken my models and slightly edited them so when they investigate it makes it difficult to match the files, he would have had to remove any 0 thickness geometry or thin wires from the models to make them printable, and unfortunately that may be enough for them to refuse that they are the same models, its just very annoying that 5 - 10 years ago when I tried to make profit from these models I would have been instantly told to take them down on sites like turbosquid, but now there has been an explosion of 3d supply sites my models have turned up all other the place, the good thing is when I have proved they are mine all the profits have been transferred to me, at the same time I found this I also found 3 of my models going for $399 each, managed to get a few hundred dollars back from my tumbler so far so its worth chasing these things up, cgtrader seems to be another site that recently got a lot of scifi models, although no b5, but a lot of star wars (and most of my models recently turned up)

May not be my Sharlin, but the Farscape and Star gate ones are definitely mine.

It's tricky Gordon. First of all, it would be difficult to claim copyright infringement without being accused of that in turn (since none of own the rights to the ships we model).

Enforcing rules between countries is always difficult (if not impossible).

Perhaps the most effective thing to do is report him to the studios who do hold the copyright and let them take the guy down. If they care to.

Nothing we can do about it to be honest - we don't hold the copyright to those designs and certainly aren't allowed to make money from them ourselves without permission or under contract - so we can't even take action based on loss of earnings etc..

However the studios involved certainly wouldn't take kindly to someone making profit from their property without their permission & without a licensing agreement in place - so it's those he has to worry about in reality..

I can report him to Fox via QMx. I sold them my Firefly mesh and he's selling printable copies.

you don't have to report him for copyright, you can report him for reselling a free product, its different, as long as the mesh can be shown to be the same, cgstudio just took down some models for me just passed on areas I highlighted in images.

I reported for both and gave examples of my meshes and artwork.

I had to report some one earlier this years for building an STL off my Cygnus model.
Then a month later some one released a more detailed model for printing.
