Took me some time, but I finally have my own Whitestar... erm... Imperial Cutter.

Holding out for a while before I get a Cutter. I already have the rank, just not the money. I really want to get an Anaconda next (at long last), but I'm waiting for after the patch to see how lucrative the passenger missions are, I may end up getting a Beluga first.

According to my ingame statistics, i have played 2W 1D and 4H. But at least half of the time i spend flying at Jaques station and back. So you won't need that long to get the Cutter.^^

And for the graphics i recommend watching a few of Obsidian ants videos.

Nice one Amras, thought the same when I got mine...shame ED's not moddable or mine would have the WS texture on it now.

Did the next best thing, slapped the Black Friday paint job on it

I missed the opportunity to get that paint job. But there are now new paint jobs in the store. Might get those and use the dark blue one.

If they would sell the whitestar texture in the store, I would buy it in a second. I would pay 20€ for that.

I actually fired this up on the weekend after a very long absence. Quite a bit has changed, it seems. Couldn't remember any of the buttons on my joystick, realized I still need to get the maneuvering jets mapped to a hat, but I still managed a couple of quick missions that netted some nice money. Would really like to spend more time in-game, but the need for joystick control customizing puts me off a bit.

I don't even have a joystick. Mouse and keyboard for me. ^^

Just got my first conda, and enough for a rebuy. I need to do some cargo runs around shinrarta to get some cash now to be safe, and provide a secondary hunting ship - I think I'll go back to a vulture for a bit first.

I wished we could transfer credits to others. I have 227mil and would give you something for a bigger ship.

Yeah, that would be pretty cool. I remember starting off in WoW, a friend gave me 100 gold. That was less than pocket change to him, but for a new player that was a LOT. Same here, dropping a quick million or so on a new player would be quite a boon.

You can transfer cargo easily enough. It's not viable for large sums but to a newcomer it can be useful.

But it's just as easy to sit in a low res in a sidey and get the last few shots of a larger kill for large payouts.

Waaay back when I was playing Everquest (before WoW launched), I used to put nice loot on the monsters. You could do that in EQ. If you were high enough level that the monster wouldn't attack you, you could actually start a trade and give it stuff. I would do that in the newbie areas, give a skeleton or something a nice sword or piece of armour.

Wouldn't that work if both are in a wing? The one in the sidey could just wait and watch and the bigger one does the work?

I am Amras Arfeiniel ingame if anyone is interested in a friend request. Just tell me here before you send one.
But I am around colonia at the moment. Searching for geysers.

I tried it for a while, but I've got "gamepad brain" from playing consoles all those years and never did get any good at using a mouse and keyboard. Trying to play Batman Arkham City (I think - whatever the second game is) without a gamepad after playing the first with confused the heck out of me and I haven't played much of it.

I believe it would. I'm Crook in game obviously, anyone can add me but I'm only on sporadically, and usually based around Shinrarta Dezhra for convenience in buying anything.

Are you playing in open? Or in a big and save group like Mobius?
I tend to play in Mobius.

Mobius, exclusively really. Solo there's little difference and open has potential griefers, which isn't my game. Currently just started the CG at Peacock delivering robotics - closest I can find large supply is 90ly away though. 13 jump round trip isn't that great. Station is 1900ls from the star as well, seems like interdiction is guaranteed.

Finally got my Oculus Rift, and what a MASSIVE difference! Still getting used to the experience, but hyperspace and docking is totally amazing! The only time my stomach churned was when I had to make a sudden manoeuvre in the docking bay...

I'm limiting myself to about an hour at a time, until I'm fully used to it. I know it was an expensive item (got it with the touch controllers), but I think it's worth it...

Well, maybe do some scanning now and then. Search for geysers. I already found a few.
I hope you have to scoop only every 15 jumps or so.^^

Mining for one of the engis at the moment. Can get boring too. But it also has something relaxing. ^^

Or just enjoy the view.

Landing still feels like an event in VR. I land slower and more carefully, looking down to check where I am etc. I wish there were more gameplay using the ship to move or nudge stuff like dropping stuff off and picking stuff up from bases / surfaces. We've already got the SRV hangar, what about a cargo container, or a winch? Flying stuff around like a Chinook would be cool.

What about a bombing run on some surface feature - like an abandoned ship to blow it up etc, but has to be done with unpowered bombs. Hell, give us bouncing bombs once they get surface liquids done (why is this not a thing yet? Oh yeah, mile wide, inch deep.) . FD are missing so many tricks for gameplay.

I know exactly what you mean about landing... I find myself looking down as I approach the pad, then checking both sides to see that I'm level, before slowly touching down.

So far, I haven't really tried combat yet... Every time I get interdicted, I submit, hit the afterburners, then jump out. I've taken time off work at the end of the month to play Mass Effect: Andromeda, so will keep playing Elite until at least the 23rd...

Combat is fun if you play with friends. We always go to a Nav point and scan for wanted ships. Even more fun when you start the fighter and leave the ship to your crew.
