Default Has SciFi-Meshes been hacked or is registration closed?

Trying to register for http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/, but AVG keeps throwing out virus warnings.

Filled out all the fields anyway, answered the spam questions, etc and when you click Register it takes you to a Rick Roll video. Did they get hacked again?

If it is it is new as spammers get in through the registration all the time. I would not be surprised if some of the old hack was still around in chunks on that site.

As for virus scanners etc 99% of the positives are false. Likely AVG is responding to some overly zelous watchdog report group who never verifies reports. SFM in particular is on many of these lists due to the VB hole that VB was making customers pay to get fixed as there is no hotfix but forced upgrade.

I have sent a notice to admin. Dunno if anything will happen I think the site is just coasting atm. Ill reply here if I get any response.

Only components i have flagged as spam are the google scripts and a 3rd party scanning site that SFM uses now.

I have not gotten a reply. I have also completed a random registration. So maybe they fixed it if not, I suggest you inspect your connections and client for possible highjacks if you still cannot get through the registration process.

Only sites you should see is scifi-meshes.com
google urls (banners and tracking etc)
and seal.beyondsecurity.com which is a gif file.

I do have to say they have a strange form with a timer that is broken least with what I tested it with (old install of FF 41.0.2 with just ABP as a script blocker) They also have required fields that are not really clear that they are required until you get an error.

AVG should give you a line about what component was flagged. IE script and what line. That would also help tell you what is up. Likely though it is a false positive from a blacklist due to the site being hacked and the owner not having the $$$$$$$$ to go around getting it removed from those lists and fighting for it.

The site is completely down - absolutely nothing comes up at all. (Sojourner on on TrekBBS said they're doing a Beatles White Album tribute but...)

yup it started spitting out blank txt files for any php request sometime early the 18th like 4am pacific. I think the host has wiped the site, possible hdw/sftw failure or any number of inactive account things. Site was getting consistent spam his from the same set of spammers over and over so who knows.

Last time I seen this on a site it was a corrupt database and required the owner to do something about it.

Most of the "hacked" or positives on scanners or watchdogs were from the older hack that exploited a hole in the vB software. I doubt Aceman went through the trouble of getting de-listed from so many sources.

Military meshes is still up and running, or was that not one of Aceman's sites.

I quit going to it, it's always down or having problems and they no longer have a download section and lost a lot of good meshes.

I stopped going for a long time when they had been down for ages. I just so used to it being down i stopped going.

Im glad its back now but i only go there occasionally to see what everyone else is doing.

Yes the loss of the downloads was a bummer but no big deal.

Domain registration/hosting and backup recovery issues were reportedly to blame.

I was getting alerts from my company's protection software.
So I recommend to scan your computer.

The current porn spam is related to some script getting in through the google ads. Likely what this guy hit was something similar or was a victim of a DNS hack which does the same thing.

not that it matters as the guy has not been active since he posted this thread.
