Default Star Trek - Long Live the Empire (qaStaHvIS yIn wo')

Finally after a few VERY busy months, I found some time to throw something new together. I know that considering the new Star Wars movie is out, the title is a little ambiguous, but I'm not going to be able to see the movie until Saturday. . . so, any Star Wars inspired artwork will have to wait!

Chancellor Gowron's flag ship, the IKS Bortas, departing Qo'nos (at least my interpretation of it). Perhaps they are headed for battle, or to Ty'Gokor so that Gowron may award the Order of the Bat'leth to deserving Klingon warriors. . . ?

COMPOSITION: Planet textures created by me in Photoshop. Planet mesh created by me, and composed into 3D models in Lightwave. Texture and atmospheric settings also my work, including all background elements. Lighting rig, composite for BoP and Vor'Cha, as well as some retexturing done by me. Scene entirely rendered in Lightwave, with postwork in Photoshop.

A LITTLE FUN WITH THE WIREFRAME RENDER:

MESHES: Vor'Cha-class battle cruiser by D. Bates, conversion by Mattc, BíRel-class Bird of Prey by Fabio Passaro, Qoínos + background composite, nebula, texture changes, composition & FX by me.

My artworks are not endorsed, sponsored, or affiliated with CBS Studios Inc. or the "Star Trek" franchise. The Star Trek trademarks, logos, and related names are owned by CBS Studios Inc., and are used under "fair use" guidelines.

Comments and critique welcome.

Thank you to my wife for inspiring me, and for reminding me that when two [Klingon] hearts beat together, no forces can stop them, and no one can oppose those two beating hearts

Thank you very much guys!

I'm heading out for a visit to the in-laws, but I have my little mobile setup with me, so maybe I can come up with something while I'm there; in any case,

HAPPY HOLIDAYS everyone!

Probably the nicest image I've seen using that particular model. All good.

That was really cool how you used the wireframe rendering! Very clever

Thank you very much! I'm glad you think so. I've tweaked the textures a little bit (to help the lighting along a little), but the geometry is very nice and efficient!

Thank you. I was initially just trying to show that it was a single scene setup, not a composite, and.. well, I got carried away a little I guess.
