Hey Meurig! I know what nurnies are but I'm unaware as to what narn-pattering is. You mentioned it to this guy as a way to reduce generic'ness' with texturing and control polycount. Please elighten me .

Checked out some more and have to get back to working on my own spaceship for now. Very inspiring stuff Armas, I'll try to learn from you and should I improve myself enough within the next 2 weeks or so I'll see if I can't help you out with your project (although I am nothing close to the skill level you display on here. Nice work!

You can achieve a lot of this in texturing. If you add any kind of weathering to the station then the scale of those streaks, burns, or markings will do a lot to sell the scale. Judging by the size of the hangars around the outer edge this thing is maybe.... 2/3 the length of an Omega? Things like your thin antennae - bare in mind that at that scale those 'thin' antennae are about 50m thick Hardly thin at all.

It's a great design though, I really like it.

Still not sure about the size.^^
But i have to make more stations, so i don't have the time to spent to much of it for one of them.

I know it's a bit dark, but i want to accentuate the lightsetup of the station. And i made Fabios B5-TLT Coolingpaneltexture for it.

Hope you like the pic.

Very impressed indeed.

The mix of red and blue lights works very well, the lighting in general is doingexactly whatyou shoot for to my eyes, that classic "all alone in the dark" B5 look, and the specular onthe top curved surface sells it perfectly and manages to imply that its what the rest would look like in strong light.

Love it!

While I am at it, how did you do the starfield? It's got the very subtle colour spot on, the mix of bright to faint, and the clumping is pretty good too.

About the only improvement to the backdrop I could suggest would be to add some dark clumpiness in front of the brighter areas of nebulosity.

Nick

Thanks!

The background was very simple. I used a piece of the Horsehead Nebula.
Then i used the Medianfilter, removed the rest of the original stars and changed the colour. In the end I added a tileable startexture that I made for our mod.

Nice model, I love the light of the picture.
You must be very proud. You have much talent.
If in the future, a new B5 serie is release, you HAVE TO work in the CGI
You have much talent, very impressed as always.
Only one question: the screen was taken ingame?

Ok, here is the next model.
I never really liked this design but someone has to make it for our mod. So I decided to build it and to alter it a bit.

The EA-Sagittarius-Class
Polycount: 15898 (that's the reason why I had to stop detailing it.^^)
Size: 870m (without the antenna at the front)

This station will be an EA-ice-mine. The base is inserted into an asteroid. Those water tanks at the outside are ready to be taken by transporters. The reactor doesn't need coolingpanels, because it is cooled by the cold water from the asteroid and the heated water is used to melt down more ice at the inside of the asteroid.

Suggestions for improvement?

Well, for that function I'd expect a lot more / a lot bigger water tanks...

Looks cool though!

The orange part in the middle of the station is also a tank. A really big tank.
