Concept Art to 3D Model..

Ok .....

Found tons of Awesome Pics a man did at Deviant art site

So I thoght I would take another Crack at Making a 3D model of one of his works of Art..

And here is the basic Hull Design, Port Side View, Aft, Bow views..

Now back to adding more Features...

Looks good so far.

As a note: rail guns use magnets to fire metallic projectiles and would not have a visible firing effect. Which makes them really dull and boring in a movie despite the fact that they are a devastating weapon.

i DUNNO - WHILE YOU ARE COMPLETELY CORRECT FOR A SIMPLE RAILGUN, (oops caps!), there's nothing to say you can't mix technologies - for example using a railgun to launch a small steerable simple missile.

Whilst I personally love credible designs, sometimes its OK to step back and just do something that looks cool! (perhaps the most obvious example being visible laser beams)

All the video I've seen of real railguns firing tend to suggest there's plenty of 'effect' to be seen. If anything they're more spectacular than similar sized gunpowder weapons, although I imagine a good deal of that would be lost in a vacuum.

Exactly, because what you are witnessing is air compression and condensation effects, as well as kicking up dust etc.
