Default SciFi - SCS Essex

I have too many ideas and not enough time to model them all. This is another vessel that roamed around my brain until I had to let it out.

now whether I finish this monster reminds to be seen

That's a neat looking design. Hope you finish it out.

I've enjoyed watching your other ships develop and I look forward to seeing where you go with this one. It should be a beauty given what you've learned in your other projects thus far.

Is this something from the Star Blazers universe? Looks cool, very interested to see how this turns out!

Thanks for the comments ...

While I do know about Star Blazers (i.e Space Battleship Yamato). The Essex is from my own little world. While the ships of the E.D.F. look cool. They do not look like they would function very well in a mutli enivorment setting. Plus the carriers from the series look awful. (my opinion)

The Essex and her like can go into space and come back to planet side. These ships spend most of thier time moving around in planets atomspheres (i.e think airships)

A little more detail on the blockout...

..and a comparsion shot with the Wichita.

*ducks for cover from the Yamato fans*

The Essex isn't a full fledged Carrier. She is classifed as a Littoral Launch Platform. A 'pocket carrier' if you will.

A little more work on the hull...

with the exception of the AGP ('wings') everything is subpatched. With only 6047 polys. A wireframe is included.
