And some panels done on the 'sticky out' bits.

I like the new detail and I like the antenna clusters. That they are at 90 degrees to the rest of the detail on the ship makes them stand out and I like that as a feature.

I don't like that the dome thing has windows on it though, the omega is traditionally a window-less ship, some ideas being that the only habitable areas are in the rotating section and the rest of the detailing is expoosed to space for maintenance, perhaps.

I must admit I had not spotted them as windows, but now that I see them I have to agree, - and they look too small to me too. I'm really not a fan of bright windows on paceship in general.

(As an aside, does anyone remember a crappy old SF film where there was a space station with bay windows?! I seem to remember 'torpedos' with soldiers in getting thrown through them at the end, not that any air rushed out as the windows broke....)

Thanks Rhys, I really wasn't sure about the antenna cluster before, I may tweak them it little bit to tidy it up though.

Hmmmm, yeah I can see your point guys Omegas were never big on windows and yes they are small, about 40cm x 60cm on the model. But the thing is I don't really have a better idea for that area at the moment and I quite like the idea of having some illuminated detail so that there is something to see when the ship is in shadow. I'll think on it for a bit and see what I can come up with.

BTW I always assumed that the interior of the whole ship was habitable, although mostly with work / maintenance / cargo / hanger / etc, spaces due to the zero G environment. But that the rotating section was where the bulk of the crew spaces were.

I really like all the new details but I have to agree with Rhys. The Earth ships had no atificial gravity so that domed area would have to be in zero G. Not to mention the radiation you might encounter that close to the drives.

But it is your deign, so see your vision through!

I've started rebuilding some of the elements of the bow section. I'm still in two minds as to whether or not to dump all the machinery in the equipment bays and build something less 'generic'. But first I think I'll rebuild the hanger tunnel, I was never really happy with this one.

Thanks Amras, I've gone 'greeble happy' because I can't get a comment of Rhy's (Meurig) out of my mind...

I'm trying to pack the greebly areas with detail and then will leave the armour sections pretty plain.

But you could try to use different sizes of greebles. At the moment you have just areas with nothing and areas with "everything" but everything in the same size. I would try to to apply Meurigs comment on the greeble areas too. They eye has nothing to rest in those areas.

This is a good example by the way:
http://www.foundation3d.com/uploads/...-03-532546.jpg

You have areas with nothing and areas with greebles. But in those greeble areas you have also areas with more and less stuff. (big parts and small parts around them).

Nah, you can't have too many nurnies!

I think it looks stunning the way it is - there's enough detail to attempt things that were not possible in the original, such as getting so close you can include suited figures for scale and viewpoint.

Nice to see this going again Tony. Makes me want to work on the Discovery again, but all my free time is going to the FFO project.

Repaired all the little nurnies in the lower back of the bow section (not that you can see much of them in this really dark render), they had gotten the rough end of a botched Copy / Paste operation somewhere along the way.

And I have been rebuilding the hanger entrance tunnel, the more observant amongst you may even notice a couple of Melvin the Meas... er, I, er, I mean space suited crew members behind the windows above the tunnel.

Eaglemes I will get to the spin section eventually, the problem is I keep changing the bits I've already built over and over again.
