I'm liking that a lot. Especially how subtle the Cardy insig is on the front in the last pic.

Thank you.

I've finished the textures on the warp blade and deicded to call the ship the Damar Class. The last picture of the Bajoran ship and Cardassian ship was done for fun to see how they look together.

UPDATE...
A little one anyway.
I noticed a lack of a photon topedoe launcher so I added one below the deflector/thing-a-majiggy.
I also finished the the impulse engine.

Bring out your dead. Bring out your dead.
Didn't know it has been so long since I last worked on one of these ships.

UPDATE...
I decided to completely remake the bridge for the U.S.S. Claymore.

UPDATE...
Pic 1 Shows the beginning of a photon torpedoe tube on the front of the saucer.
Pic 2 Shows I made a few slices and booleans to make a few panel lines.
Pic 3 Shows how the saucer now looks connected to the rest of the ship. The original design of the ship had two large blue balls on the bottom of the saucer. I decided to rework that idea and make them less blue and less silly looking.
Pic 4 Shows that I've thickened up the neck a little. It was just to damn thin and flimsy looking.

UPDATE...
I have more work done.
I've done panel lines for the top and bottom of the saucer. I've added what looks like large observation windows to the lower saucer. I don't know if they are windows but they are in my references. I now have vents on the neck/saucer connection. The last pic shows some minor rim detail and a few small windows.

It's an odd looking little ship, but you're doing a lovely job on it.

Have not stopped in in for a while and look at this!
I love this ship. Not the standard frisbee fare for a saucer section.

UPDATE...
Iíve neglected my Civil War ships for too long so I thought Iíd get some work done on this one. Most of what Iíve done is flesh out the impulse area. Iíve also decided on a final class name. This is a Smith class ship named after the master make up artist Dick Smith. Other ships in the class will be the Baker, Savini, Drexler and Winston.

I know every one of those names, too! In my teens and early twenties I read everything I could get my hands on regarding special effects makeup; Starlog magazine was a big help in that respect.

The model is coming along nicely.

Thanks.
I could have added Chambers,Chaney and Westmore but they didn't have as much of an influence on me as the others. Most of my childhood was taken up by reading about these guys and watching their work.

UPDATE...
I've added more windows and placed rooms behind them.
I made a few cutouts on the rim of the ship to house sensors.
And I rebuilt the secondary hull so it's not so boxy.

A very interesting design. What is this ship's job description?

I'm not entierly sure yet. It's got some big weapons so it's not a ship of exploration, that I'm certain of. Maybe border patrol.

UPDATE...
I added lifeboats and more windows and other details to the command decks.
Also added running lights and phasers. Right now I think the phasers are too big so I might redo them.
A close up of the textures on the bridge. I used a combination of inkscape and photoshop to do the texture.
I've also decided after recently watching the original The Wolfman I'll name this ship after Jack Pierce since he did all the make up for the Universal monsters. So I'll have to decide what other name to drop.

Nice design. I like how the figure's shadow is pointing the wrong direction from the light coming off the bridge.

That's because shadows for that light are currently turned off.

Started to texture the Claymore. I decided to go with a Voyager base color. I think it works and isnít the normal gray or white. I see a few mesh errors I need to fix but that shouldnít be a problem.

Decided to go back to the Claymore and do more textures for it. Iíve finished the hull and started the warp engines I still have to do the end cap so no it wonít stay that color.

UPDATE...
Continuing to work on the Claymore I plan on this to be the next ship I finish. I decided that since this ship is too small for lifeboats Iíd do the same thing I did with the U.S.S. Soval and turn the bridge into a lifeboat.
I also finished the textures for the primary neck and worked on an idea for a phaser nipple. I also added what might end up being cargo doors to the back of the saucer. That last picture is a test to see if I can get the bridge plug-in to work right.

UPDATE...
Iíve finally got to work on the look of the plug-in fo rthe bridge. I still havenít decided how they will lock together because I donít want to use a clamp of some kind. After all the Captainís Yaght on the Enterprise-E didnít appear to have any clamps holding it. Maybe some kind of magnets or a combination of artifical gravity and structuall support mixed with forcefields. Iíll probably use some kind of Tom Foolerymatrix or Shananagater.
